- The city runs on apartment living; understanding a building’s comunidad, lift access and parking situation matters more here than the address itself.
- Summers are genuinely hot and winters can bite — Madrid homes are built for both, but it is a different climate from the coast if the Mediterranean was your mental picture of Spain.
The "Golden Triangle" of the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza is one of the densest concentrations of great art anywhere. Add the Retiro park, a tapas culture that is a nightly institution, and Spain’s best transport hub, and the appeal is obvious.
